Physical Education

3 students on PE Equipment

Aligning with the National Physical Education Standards, the Richmond Middle School physical education program strives to nurture the physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities of our students. Using a variety of activities and techniques, our goal is to develop physically literate individuals. Experiential learning fosters confidence through increasing physical abilities and expanding social skills that help create a positive sense of self. Creating a physically and emotionally safe environment is of the utmost importance. In such an environment, students can challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zone, and find successes that surprise even themselves. We have an all inclusive curriculum providing adapted PE, pre-teaching and skill development. Students will leave RMS having been exposed to a curriculum that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
