Thoughts from the front office

Dear RMS Family:

Whew.  We made it to April break and spring seems to have established a firm foothold in northern New England.  For both things we are thankful.  Many traditions point to this time as one of rebirth and renewal, and we hope for all those things for the RMS family in the coming week.  Knowing that there is no way to capture the hope and joy of the season in a Friday Focus, and honoring the words below, this week’s offering will be short, leaving us all more time for seasonal celebrations, family fun, rest, and renewal.

The first sparrow of spring! The year beginning with younger hope than ever! The faint silvery warblings heard over the partially bare and  moist fields from the bluebird, the song sparrow, and the red-wing, as if the last flakes of winter tinkled as they fell! What at such a time are histories, chronologies, traditions, and all written revelations ?  - H.D.  Thoreau - Spring

This week’s student work was brought to you by Sara Ellis’ watercolor class.

State testing for 8th and 8th grades wrapped up this week.  Thank you to teachers and students for weathering the disruption to our regular schedule and putting forth a strong and honest effort.  Seventh grade students will test upon their return.  Please reach out with any questions.

Spring at RMS will bring an acceleration of events, projects, and opportunities.  Stay tuned for more information after break.  We are looking forward to celebrating this year as we move toward the end of the year.

Please enjoy the week away from school.  We will miss y’all, but please join us as we unplug from devices, set our away messages, and enjoy all the season has to offer.  As always, be safe, stay well, and take care of each other.

Negative balances

As we move toward the end of the year, the SAU begins to closely monitor Mealtime negative balances, mindful that the fiscal year ends at the end of June.  Families will receive emails when students' negative balances exceed $1.00 beginning after break.  Our goal will be to eliminate negative balances by the start of June, making life easier for Austin and our financial folks.  (this also means Tim and Anissa have to settle up as well)

It is worthwhile to note that money in mealtime is transferable to next year, even if your student is going to Hanover High School.
If you have any questions regarding payment, please contact Janice Starkey in the main office.

If you have any questions, concerns, or dietary restrictions please contact Austin Jacobs.

RMS does offer a lunch program for families who may need assistance or special needs.  Please contact Robin Morley-Ploof in the office for more information.

RMS Health Office Updates

Prescription Medications Does your child need to take prescription medication during school hours? Students must keep all prescription medications in the health office and have a signed medication form as well. The medication form and additional information can be found on the Health Office page

Dartmouth College will host their 10th annual Sonia Kovalevsky Day on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
