Thoughts from the Front Office

Dear RMS Community:

On Fridays before break, we wear pink!

Principal Boyle in pink hair

Thanks to support from the front office I was able to channel my inner hair band member (think of the band Poison) and join the fun of a middle school on the day before a well deserved break.

As we move into our “spring break,” please take the time to celebrate some of the many holidays that are upcoming (Passover, Easter, continuation of Ramadan, opening day at Fenway, and I am sure many others…) and enjoy the time away from RMS.  We will use the time to recharge and ready ourselves for the finish of the school year.  Again we have asked that teachers and students take some real time away - set away messages and unplug a little.  As our minds turn slowly to summer, please take a look at our community page for a listing of upcoming events and summer camps.  https://www.frms.org/resources/community-interest

Stay tuned after break for some announcements about upcoming events as we do our best to return to a “normal” end of the year (which we have not yet experienced as an administrative team).   Until then, be well, stay safe, and take care of each other.

Principal

When Worry Shows Up
Prior to February break we advertised a video seminar When Worry Shows Up - How Parents Can Help Children During Uncertain Times.  The presentation by Lynn Lyons explains how anxiety works in young children and how to address anxieties in your own children.  There was also information about making sure your child is getting what they need for their mental health. Thanks to Shawn Gonyaw at MCS, Here is the recording of that presentation.
