Thank you to members of the student council who staffed an aid station for the recent CHaD Hero road race.  Thank you to Ms. Fred and RMS counselor emeritus John LaCrosse for your help.  It is great to see RMS folks supporting the community.

Adeline Miller of Breaux Bridge, LA (the heart of Acadiana), and a member of the musical group Amis du Teche,  visited RMS on Thursday to share the music, language, and history of “Les Acadians” in Louisiana.  Our French students were treated to a great afternoon of Cajun music and discussion (largely in French).  Thank you to Kelly McConnell, RMS parent and Dartmouth prof, for organizing this great opportunity.  Merci beaucoup!

Traffic concerns

We have noticed a number of cars that are using the neighborhood to the south of us as drop off and pick up spaces for RMS students (and the Ray School as well).  Please be mindful of many students walking/biking/rolling in that neighborhood.  We know the traffic in Hanover is not getting better, but the safety of our students must remain the first priority.

Mathcounts Change

Starting next Friday, 11/1, Mathcounts will combine with the HS team and meet at Hanover High School starting at 3:15.  This move allows coach Wharton to accommodate our large numbers and have our students work with experience mathletes  Carpool coordination will be helpful for transportation.

Next week marks the end of Q1, Halloween, a Dartmouth bonfire, and the semi-annual clock change that causes us to “fall back.”  We are looking forward to a surge in energy at school and in town.  Please join us in taking this weekend as a respite prior to welcoming November.  As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns, be well, stay safe, take care of each other, and remember that the geese have got it.

School News, Information, and Resources

RMS Cafe

Information about menus, mealtime, and application for RMS’ meal program are available here.

The RMS lunch program is run “in house” and does not follow a state or federal program.  If your family may benefit from assistance for meals, please contact Robin Morley-Ploof in the office for more information.  The program is confidential and runs the same way as the more traditional cafe meal funding program.

RMS works hard to accommodate the dietary needs of our community, so if you have any questions, concerns, please contact Austin Jacobs.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have a wide-range of volunteer opportunities available both during and outside of school hours throughout the district.  Please take a minute to fill out this brief questionnaire to let us know what activities you would be interested in learning more about for the 2024-25 school year.  Teal Parker, our Coordinator of Volunteers, will be in touch with more details as events/activities arise.

In addition, if you are interested in volunteering but have not yet gone through the background check process, please fill out this form and we will be in touch to get the process started for you.
